TECIL Chemicals and Hydro Power Ltd (formerly The Travancore Electro-Chemical Industries Ltd) is a non-operating listed company that historically manufactured calcium carbide, acetylene black, desulphurisation compound and ferro-silicon at Chingavanam, Kerala. Manufacturing ceased in 1999 and plant /machinery were sold in FY12. The co. now plans a tourism /hospitality-led development on its remaining land, subject to the Kerala Government approval.[1]
